Chiropractic Treatment

Doctors of chiropractic perform “chiropractic adjustment” to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that is restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury.

Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, or through long term repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer. Chiropractic adjustment on the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.

Chiropractic adjustment rarely causes discomfort. Human body is a smart living being that will response to changes made. The body responses highly depends on individuals.

Decompression Therapy

The Decompression Traction System (“DTS”) is essentially a method of stretching your body to relieve the pressure and break down of scar tissues that builds up in the spine through various causes.

The DTS gentle intermittent distractive pull-relax patterns create a suctioning effect on the disc, much like pulling a balloon from both ends, and the middle portion narrows as a result. The goal of the therapy is to reduce the pressure on the nerve, most commonly from a herniated or protruding disc.

DTS therapy also decreases muscle spasms and muscle guarding, and breaks up adhesions, in order to facilitate increased range of motion and increase the effectiveness of chiropractic adjustment. In addition, spinal decompression helps improve blood flow and nutrient exchange at the disc, which results in pain relief, improved healing, and slower degeneration.

Knee Bracing

Bracing can be categorized into different functions.

Functional braces aims to stabilize the knee and control motion to prevent further injury. Knee OA braces are designed to relieve pain in people who have arthritis and reduced joint spaces in their knees. They shift the weight from the damaged area of the knee. Knee sleeves is technically not a brace, but they are the most common type of knee support. They are designed to provide compression which control pain and swelling.

Fitting the right brace will make sure it works properly and also increase its effectiveness. However, a knee brace is not the solution for all, a good strength and flexibility are part of key component in a healthy healing process.
